Privacy Policy

1. What this website does (and does not do)

• You can view public profiles, search results, posts, job listings, and a public activity timeline.
• You cannot create an account, sign in, post content, apply for jobs, send messages, or like content on the Site. Those actions happen in the Fundi Link mobile app (Google Play).
• Links and buttons on the Site may send you to the app or Play Store to book, message, or apply.

2. Information we process

2.1 Information you provide

The Site has no registration form. If you email or call our support numbers listed in the footer, we receive whatever you choose to send (for example your name, email, or phone number).

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our hosting providers may process:

• IP address, browser type, device type, and general location (country/region);
• Pages visited, referrers, and timestamps;
• Technical logs needed for security, abuse prevention, and performance (for example on Vercel, our hosting platform).

2.3 Public platform content

The Site loads public data from our database (hosted on Supabase), such as professional names, bios, photos, posts, like counts, comment counts, job descriptions, and locations. This content was submitted by users of the Fundi Link app under their own accounts. We display it so visitors can discover professionals; we do not use the Site to collect new profile data from visitors.

2.4 Cookie and similar technologies

We use cookies and local storage for essential functions (for example remembering your cookie choices). Optional analytics and advertising cookies may be used only if you consent. See our Cookie Policy for details.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

• Operate, secure, and improve the Site;
• Show accurate public discovery content;
• Measure traffic and fix errors (where you have consented to analytics);
• Show advertising on the Site in the future (only where you have consented to advertising cookies — see Section 6);
• Respond to support requests;
• Comply with law and enforce our terms.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

Depending on your location, we rely on legitimate interests to run a public discovery website, on consent for non-essential cookies, and on legal obligation where required.

5. Sharing and processors

We may share information with service providers who help us run the Site, including:

• Vercel — hosting and delivery of the Site;
• Supabase — database and storage for public content and images;
• Cloudflare Turnstile (when enabled) — bot and abuse protection. If we enable invisible Turnstile, Cloudflare processes minimal technical signals as described in the Turnstile Privacy Addendum and Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
• Future advertising partners (see Section 6) — only with your consent where required.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Advertising (planned)

We plan to show third-party or first-party advertisements on some pages of the Site (for example sidebars or banners). When we do:

• Ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies to measure impressions and, where allowed, personalize ads;
• We will update this policy and our Cookie Policy with the partners and purposes involved;
• Non-essential advertising technologies will run only if you accept advertising cookies in our cookie banner (or equivalent control).

Until ads are live, no advertising cookies are set for that purpose.

7. Retention

• Server logs: typically retained for a limited period per our hosts’ policies.
• Cookie consent choices: stored in your browser until you clear them or change settings.
• Public app content: retained according to Fundi Link app rules and the user who posted it.
• Support emails: retained as long as needed to handle your request and for legal compliance.

8. Security

We use HTTPS, access controls on our infrastructure, and read-only public database access on the Site (anonymous key only — no account passwords on the web). No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on applicable law (including Kenya’s Data Protection Act), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of personal data we hold about you.

• Cookie choices: use our cookie banner or browser settings; see Cookie Policy.
• App account data: managed in the Fundi Link mobile app or by contacting us — not via the read-only Site.
• Public profile content: owned/controlled by the professional who published it; contact us if you believe content should be removed.

10. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site.

11. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than Kenya. We use providers that offer appropriate safeguards where required.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new date at the top. Material changes may be highlighted on the Site or in the app.
